Whenever we get snow here, I am always reminded of making snow cream with my sister when we were little. It's delicious and fun to make. I think I'll make some today for old times' sake!
Here are the rules:
#1: Snow cream is best with fluffy snow. Icy, wet snow doesn't make good snow cream.
#2: Don't make snow cream with the first snowfall. (Why? Because my Grandmama said so.)
Here's the recipe:
1 giant mixing bowl full of clean, fluffy snow (a gallon's worth)
a spoonful of vanilla extract (you can add a little more at the end if it needs it)
1 cup of sugar
about 2 cups milk - add this last. Add a cup to start and then mix. Add more milk until it gets the consistency of ice cream.
